Love for the Sagebrush Sea.

When I founded Anthea Skincare in 2012, my very first product was Sage Simple Cream. The bright, clean scent of sagebrush is the fragrance of my Idaho roots, my home. It is the smell of comfort, tranquility and belonging. I created this all purpose cream for hands, body and face using essential oil from sagebrush that I harvest in Idaho's high desert so that, no matter where I am in the world, all I have to do to recall home is open a jar of Sage Simple Cream and inhale.

The same year I started my company, I began working for a nonprofit environmental law firm called Advocates for the West. This stellar team of attorneys represent their clients for free, and they consistently win landmark victories for our public lands, waterways and wildlife. One of our most pressing legal battles is protecting the West's high desert – the "Sagebrush Sea" – from industry threats such as oil and gas development and overgrazing.

Protecting the Sagebrush Sea is personal to me. Wandering the landscapes of the high desert is where I feel most at home — and without a healthy sagebrush biome, Anthea Skincare's signature product cannot exist. With that in mind, I have decided to donate 10% of every sale in my Sage line to Advocates for the West.
